I thought I’d write a small post about myself so that you guys can get to know me a little better. I covered the basics in my first post but that was mainly why I had started a new blog.
I’m Louise but everyone calls me Lou. Like everyone. I used to absolutely hate it and then people just started using it as my default name so I got used to it and kinda like it now. YAY.
I’m from a small town on the west coast of Scotland called Oban. It’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s amazing going home to visit family and friends and seeing the incredible summer sunsets but for me, it’s too small to live there.
I currently live in Stirling, in Scotland, where I moved to 4 years ago to begin my university studies. Stirling is like, my favourite ever place. I don’t know why. It just feels like home and there are some beautiful scenes and places here too!
I have just graduated from university with a BSc (Hons) in Management. That means proper adult life has begun. I live in a lovely 2 bed flat with my friend Elliot which is absolutely perfect for the two of us. After lots of trial and error, I managed to get myself a full-time job which I am absolutely loving! I work in the psychology department at the University of Stirling. I provide administrative and secretarial assistance within the department. I am the receptionist for the division providing the very first point of contact to staff and students. I PA for the Head of Division and I am involved in a lot of finance and HR work. I absolutely love how varied my work is and every single day is different! I’ve only been in my position for 6 weeks but there has not been one day that I haven’t wanted to go in. I just love it and my colleagues are all fab. (How beaut is my campus though?)
Over the years, the number of friends I have has reduced but that’s all part of growing up, right? All my friends are absolute gems and I would do anything for them. Their names will probably feature in a lot of my posts.
I’ve been with my boyfriend for a few months now and it doesn’t seem like we’ll be leaving the honeymoon phase for a long, long time (he says we never will haha.) He is one of the most genuine and selfless people I have ever met. (It also took him 13 dates to ask me to be his girlfriend because he thought I didn’t like him, whatta cutie.)
I absolutely LOVE reading. Fiction is my escape. I read some amount of rubbish. Well, it’s not really rubbish because I wouldn’t have read it if was. But I honestly read anything that anyone recommends, so suggest away if you like a good book! I am obsessed with chic lits, I just love a romance story!
I love exploring both new and old places and have recently discovered that I love a good adventure! I’ve been fortunate enough the past few years to go on quite a few holidays, which has allowed me to see so many new places. By far, the most incredible place I have ever been is NEW YORK. It is AHHHMAZIN’.
I’ve been through quite a bit in my 22 years of life but everything has made me who I am today and sometimes I feel I can conquer anything! I suffer from anxiety and depression which can be such a pain in the arse. But I try everything to help myself and stay positive. Writing allows me to let go of all my thoughts and just be me. So, just a heads up that not all of my posts will be sunshine and laughter because sometimes, life just doesn’t go that way. I want to write about things that matter to me, and things that really bug me (cue upcoming post on mental health stigma.) I WILL try to keep my blog positive and happy for those of you who take the time to read my ramblings! But don’t say I didn’t warn ya if I rant! If there’s anything else you want to know about me, ask away!
