Now that I am in full time work, I have my weekends free to do as I please. With Christmas approaching, what better way to get in the spirit than head along to a Christmas market. There’s not much on in Stirling at this time of year so I had planned for Michael and I to head through to Glasgow instead and make a day of it!
I had planned of doing a bit of shopping when we arrived but never got round to doing any because we were both so hungry. We went to Cafe Andaluz for Spanish tapas which was amazing! I had never been before but I will definitely be going back because it was absolutely incredible. BEST. FOOD. EVER.
Bet you’re hungry now?!
After lunch, we decided to go for a wee wander around the West End as that’s where Michael studied and lived for 6 years. When we went to the university it was amazing as it was the winter graduation ceremony so there were lots of lights and it felt so magical!
I had visited the University of Glasgow before but not in over five years and I forgot how much it reminds me of Hogwarts!
We headed back into town and went to the Christmas market. There were SO many goodies, lots of food and hot drinks! I love wandering about little markets looking at all the stalls and little trinkets to buy people!
We treated ourselves to something sweet as we were too full to have dessert with lunch. Michael got some chocolate covered marshmallows that were massive and I got a Nutella crepe because they are my absolute favourite! Although it was a tough decision between that and churros!
I absolutely love Glasgow at this time of year and my favourite thing is definitely the lights! These lights remind me of stars and make me feel so cosy and warm inside and every year they give me the exact same feeling! It’s so lovely and festive!
We then travelled home and spent the evening in front of the telly! Such a perfect Saturday!
Have you been to any Christmas markets this year?
