Writers Block

2017? Crazy, I know. Where did the last year go?

I’m not going to lie, I have found it realllllly hard to get back into the swing of blogging and social media etc, etc. And this is how bad it is, I’ve actually named my post ‘writers block.’ I did tweet saying that I would be taking a break (just in case anyone actually noticed that I had fallen off the face of the Earth) but I had no idea just how difficult it would be to get back into the swing of things. I love blogging, I really do, and I write for myself but recently, I have had absolutely no inspiration or motivation to do so. Maybe Blogmas took it all out of me, who knows.

I feel as if I have absolutely nothing to write. I wrote down ideas for blog posts before I began Blogmas but I just have no motivation to write, and I didn’t want to start the New Year without a little catch up. AND new branding if you haven’t noticed! (Big up to Amy for her amazing creation!)

Apart from my lack of inspiration, I am SO excited for the next year of blogging and everything that’s thrown at Louise Chatters. I’m gonna push myself and fingers crossed, I can reach the goals I have set myself.

Since I began this blog in September, I’ve been rather committed to posting every Monday and Thursday and I have actually managed to stick to my schedule. Sometimes I would change what content I would be posting but having set days that I posted on, really helped me become organised with my blog. This year, I want to become even more organised and try and structure my scheduling more. I’m not saying I’ll stick to this but I’m definitely going to have a bash at it! I’ve been tempted to limit my blog to just one category, so it fits in to more of a niche, but then I realised I would’t really be writing for myself if I took that route. Because sometimes, I just like to babble and if I find something I love, whether that be a new product, book or recipe, I just want to write and share it with you.

So, every month, I’m going to try and include at least one post on each of the following;

  • Mental Health
  • Monthly Favourites
  • Monthly Update
  • Advice / How To post

These are the kind of post I enjoy writing and although I’ve never posted a monthly updates post, I’m hoping it’ll be able to help me reflect on the on-goings in my life (also, my Twitter followers seemed keen on this idea ;)) I’m not saying that any of these posts will benefit anyone other than myself but hopefully, by writing about the topics I love the most,someone will be able to relate.

Feel free to comment with your links so I can have a read of your latest posts!

Much love,

  1. I totally get you with writers block! Sometimes I can have all the ideas in the world, but no way of getting the ideas out of my brain into a coherent blog post! I find that the best thing to do is just write something, anything – even if you don’t publish what you write, physically putting words on a page can help you get back into the swing of things!

    Good luck with your blog this year! I look forward to reading your mental health posts in particular!

  2. I know that feeling, I have a list of Blog Post ideas but then when I come to write them I get a bit lost in what I want to write! I want to stick to a schedule so I better just stop watching gilmore girls and get out the house instead!

  3. Been through this myself a fair few times so I know how you feel! But you’ve set yourself some amazing goals and I’m sure you’ll smash them. Also, well done you for staying true to yourself and not going with a niche! I’ve had that argument with myself many a time.
    Can’t wait to read more.
